Diamond Alternative to Engagement Rings

Posted by

Moissanite is a lab created stone that is a very popular alternative to diamond. They are graded strictly on color. A premium qulaity Moissanite will be close to colorless. On a hardness scale, they are very close to the hardness of a diamond and thus suited well for a center stone on an engagement ring. The Diamond is 10 on the Mohs Scale and Moissanite is 9.5.

Morganite is a translucent pink stone is also very popular here in the shop. We sell many beautiful rings that have been set with this flashy stone. The color ranges from light pink, rose, peach, and salmon hues. Morganite looks fabulous set in any color of gold, with rose gold being the color that we use in our "Blushing Rose" collection. On the Mohs Scale, the stone is around 7.5 to 8.

White Sapphire is another translucent white stone that can be used as a substitute for a Diamond. It does not have the scintillation that a diamond would, that fiery rainbow flash.

Blue Sapphire is a popular choice, too. This beautiful stone ranges from a light cornflower blue to deep royal blue. They are very versatile and look great with everything. As with the White Sapphire , they are a 9 on the Mohs scale.
